went to a dinner party at a students parents house. he is an architect. he designed their beautiful house. we played a Wii tennis tournament. i took third. Wii is fun.

did my first wine tasting. learned a little, grew very curious. ate an incredible gorgonzola penne.

rode a bus for 2 hours, taught for 2 hours, had some coffee, read sedaris.

as far as vinyl toys go, today was huge. i got the andy warhol factory pack, kaws kubrick series 3 bus stop included and the bearbrick artist series 9, only a 4.16% chance of that happening. muahhahaha

photoshop, lots of photoshop today, and some remixes of tracks from "THE KNIFE" album.

watched little miss sunshine in a cozy theater, ate sri lankan curry, walked a lot.

had a great korean dinner this evening. various veggies, rice, tofu and noodles, all moderately spicy.

made my first fully japanese phone call today. communicating without facial expressions, gestures or body language is much more difficult than most would think.

walked by a restaurant today, it was not open yet, the nightly delivery of fresh veggies and fish we already delivered and waiting outside on the sidewalk for the chef to arrive.

saturday, worked, great students, met a new coworker, shes cool, ate baked beans for the first time in over a year, they were good, went to a fundraiser party for an NGO in vietnam, ended up at a great bar drinking white russians and chatting with the owner about jazz and soul.

this evening i went to a notorious foreigner bar in my town. i have been there before, but tonights visit sparked many thoughts. i looked around the room, saw and heard a group of chinese guys, some kind of eastern european guys, some americans, and various other westerners. i cant help but question why you would travel thousands of miles to NOT be sitting at a japanese bar? ?

today was boring. i read news online and listened to some tech podcasts for a few hours, rode the bus to work, one of my students moms hit on me, got a free ride home, made some pasta, haggled with wells fargo over my canceled card, read some kerouac.
